I’ve only got the 2019 but really looking forward to the 2021. I see you’re also a man of taste with that whiskey barrel, very nice!

Thanks for the kind words, Mr Vult.

As to the whiskey, its interesting. Southern Grace Distillery is a local producer.  I actually did the construction documents for the build. We took an abandoned NC prison and installed a couple of stills inside. Affectionately called Whiskey Prison.  At the time, it was the only distillery located within a rehabbed correction facility in the US, may still be, I dunno.

A couple years ago, they started barrel aging to get whiskey. They sell the once used barrels. I just got a couple to use as planters around the house.

As you guys can tell from my razor pictures, self control isn't my strong suit, so I dont drink anymore! Haha. 10 years sober as of the 11th.
10 years as of the 11th congratulations sir, well done, thank you for sharing.
I think I've had that same lack of self-control through different things, so I get it!
Thanks Keith. Being an addict of one description or another is a flaw. Took me years to figure it out but once I did, life got lots better.

Now, my modern adjustable collection is limited to the Sailor Series from Rocnel. As my Gillette interest waned in 2017, the Sailor was released, just in time! I've taken to collecting them now. Recently, I was lucky enough to get my hands on the 2021 #3 Prototype. I've gotten only 2 shaves in with it, but initial reaction is quite positive. If the 2020 is an adjustable WR2, the the 2021 is an adjustable WR1.

2021 has increased blade feel in the low gaps that is linear and consistent through the range. It's not quite as smooth in the upper gaps as the 2020, but its no 2019 on the face either.

The 2021 is well made. Well balanced. Still quite handsome like the 2020, and operates smoothly, just like I expected.

Even slimmed down by 40g or so from 2020, the 2021 still feels substantial. A lot of that loss in weight was in the length of the handle. The 2021 is back to the 2017 75mm length.

New for 2021 is a matching stand. The stand has a peg for the hole in the base of the handle. The base is hefty and the connection is tight enough to prevent accidental tipping.

The packaging is the best I've ever seen. The 2020 blue wooden boxes have been outdone by the 2021. The box makes you feel like you are holding something special. Smaller than the 2020 and more elegant. The straps to hold the razor in place are a much welcomed addition.

My Brother, I am sorry I completely missed this post earlier! Outstanding assessment and pics! Looking forward to getting this one in my hands. Phil said Murat either shipped them Friday or tomorrow so all of our “preorders” should be in hand in the next week and a half. I have been so focused on updating you on a couple other new Adjustables that I missed your post even after you sent me those pics as a “hint”! Anyway, love this my man and I am pissed that Murat is not sending the stands right now but I understand that it was a weight issue and a huge extra expense to ship them. Can you post a pic of the inside of the stand to see how he made it able to fit down in it with that knob on the side? Thanks, and as always, awesome post and pics!

Please, no apologies friend. I know you are busy with a couple of new arrivals of your own. It sounds like you've got a couple of winners there too. It's nice having so many really good adjustable options. Great time to be a consumer with an itch. I am anxious to hear how the 2021 compares to the new stuff. That Gibbs clone looks like the gap is massive.

Ya know, sometimes the simplest stuff escapes me. Weight! Thats why the new ones are sans stand. I just threw mine on the scale before grabbing your picture. The stand weighs like 166g! 20g or so more than the razor. I would imagine 10-20 of those would kill you in shipping.

Here is a pic of the stand you aren't getting. Ha! What is interesting is the hole extends all the way to the knurling on the handle, up past the button.

So, that’s another difference between the 2020 and 2021. There is no hole in the bottom of the 2020 to fit on a stand like that. Very interesting! I just contacted one of my favorite artisans in Canada to make a couple custom stands for the 2019, 2020 and 2021. This throws a wrench in the design I suggested because of the new 2021. That stand looks massive and from the weight of the stand, it’s probably solid stainless steel. That really explains a lot! As always, preciate that little tidbit! Yeah, that pic I sent you with the gap on the new Taiga is huge! The thing I am trying to get used to is the lightness of the titanium Taiga. Feels kind of weird to me for an adjustable but I’ll get used to it. All of the Adjustables I own have some weight to them.

I have a vacant WRA2 stand ready for the sailor. 16.2 mm width stand opening. Should be perfect given your dimensions above!

I was thinking the same thing with the WRA2 and the 2021 Sailor , let's see.

The WRA1 (puck) bored for the XL handles fit perfect.

The WRA2 is a great fit too.[Image: b06fdb1ed3bf6895aa12e160d6449e97.jpg][Image: 4aa767e52bb75cb6931328792976f0e5.jpg]
