Is that Falcon SE happening or is that DOA? It had a lot of buzz for a while.

Yeah....I'll be honest in that I don't see it taking flight but, hey, let's be optimistic...I slotted them for October Smile

Last I had heard it was sidetracked based on school, life priorities. Shame as it did have some buzz and I was definitely curious.

I am in for a dose of October Optimism!

This just shows I do not have any bit of RAD in me. Only one of these I have heard of is the Blackbird, and I am saving for that one.

Here's a thought, all these people are trying to make the same thing better or cooler - whether its a SE or DE razor they're all just minor variations on a theme. Once you're able to achieve the BBS shave, how do you distinguish yourself? Some are executed better than others but we're talking slight variations.  Most of the razors do their job pretty well so whats an innovative entrepreneur to do?  Managed scarcity (Wolfman)?  Different materials or colours or design links to other things like fighter jets or retro or futuristic?  So here are a few ideas:

-Make established razors in limited edition series using rare or unusual materials - mammoth tusk handles, carbon fibre, precious/semi-precious stones or made from pieces of historic structures or objects, e.g. a decommissioned B52;
-Use strong design period inspiration, like age of steam/steampunk, nautical,  atomic age, art deco, retro-industrial, stone age.
-make a quality razor that gives a BBS shave for the price of a cartridge razor handle, <$20.- this could be a huge money maker for sales among the masses that can't/won't afford premium razor prices.

I'm just throwing ideas out there because I'm noticing some convergence in design which only makes sense when many people are trying to make the same thing and it has to perform to essentially the same specifications.  New products have to offer more than just a great shave, there has to be some reason that a new razor will appeal to the buyer.

It is indeed an interesting time in the world of TWS.
