Torrey Pine (24mm)

This handle is made from an old growth Torrey Pine, estimated to be 150 years old, which fell in Coronado, California in August of 2019.  The Torrey pine is a rare pine species in the United States. It is an endangered species growing only in the Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve, coastal northern San Diego county, and on Santa Rosa Island.  The "wild" native population of Torrey Pine is restricted to trees growing in a narrow strip along the Southern California coast in San Diego.  The Torrey Pine was one of the rarest pine species in the world in the early 20th century, with only around 100 trees surviving.   This piece of Torrey Pine features a ring of Copper Laced Onyx bracketed by two Copper accent rings.

While doing some housekeeping on my inventory, I came across these 3 handles I built several months ago and failed to get them listed.  They are all made from separate pieces of laser-cut dyed and natural Maple to depict the infamous "Skull and Crossbones".  I modified one to have red eyes to give a particularly devilish appearance.
