I have to admit that when I first saw the title of this thread on the other forum, it turned me off. It said to me - "I have a lot of money, so let's keep this discussion to expensive things". But it did lead to an interesting discussion and an informative thread. So I look forward to reading your in depth analysis of "the good stuff". I have a tried a few in the luxury category, but have not had a ton of success. ABC for example, was a terrific performer for me. But I got zero scent during the shave. Absurdly overpriced to me. MdC Fougere was another disappointment. Interesting scent that was very potent. Made a fine looking lather as well. But just did not excel in slickness, and post-shave was very drying for me. I am thirsty just thinking about it. I have not tried SMN, XPEC, or many others in this category. I did try PannaCrema Nuavia blu and this is an absolute home run for me. Checks every box - presentation, slickness, cushion, ease of lathering, scent, etc. I paid about $40 at Pasteurs, and I understand it's price went up. Not sure how I feel about that, but it will be a long time before I have restock. Other soaps that I love are Tabac, SdM, Mystic Water, Mikes, Klar Classic and Valobra.

shevek I can assure you that wasn't the intent. As you probably noticed from my explanation earlier, the purpose of this journey is to find and evaluate the "best" performers without reference to cost and value as a factor. That doesn't necessitate that the products be expensive, or that any of us be required to have a lot of money. Rather it is a way of framing the discussion to encourage evaluation of product performance without becoming distracted by long debates over whether or not X or Y product is worth it financially (which is obviously a subjective and contentious issue for some). Apologies for the crude title (I couldn't think of another way to put it), but this framing was intentional.

Let me be clear: all replies and suggestions are welcome, whether they include expensive "luxury" products or not. Simply ignore the price issue and tell us the name of the product, by all means! Smile

Great posts gentlemen!

Thanks celestino for this clarification. I had Eufros on my "to test" list but now I obviously won't need it (since I've tried Jabonman) Smile.

Well, Peter, Manuel is using only higher-end EOs in the Eufros' line, so you may find it to be a bit better than his previous Jabonman versions that you have tried, or not. Shy
