While I own a variety of Wolfman's they are all Solid Bar.  On my next purchase I intend to order an Open Comb version.  In Stainless Steel, which head (WR1 or WR2), and which gap would you recommend?  I like aggressive smooth razors.  I regularly use a .86 WR1 Ti and a WR2 1.55 Ti.  Thanks.

I have the WR2 1.25 SB and the WR2 1.05 OC.  Much prefer the 1.05, although I tend to like OC razors better.  For me, I can reduce blade exposure and gap and get same or better shave with an OC vs SB.  As an aside, I have the same experience with Timeless razors.  Seems like my oc razors handle soap  better.

I’ve always preferred OC on my WR1’s and SB on the WR2’s. There’s guys here that seem to agree that the OC doesn’t add anything beneficial to the WR2. If you enjoy your 1.55 SB, maybe go 1.75 or 1.85 SB.

I enjoy the Ti 1.55 SB, but I am concerned the extra weight and additional gap might be too much for me.  What are your experiences with those gaps?  Thanks.

Your conclusions are why I am considering an Open Comb.  Thanks.

Living on the edge
Go 0.94mm for WR1...its smooth and very efficient.

Personally, I’d stick with Ti but I find 1.65-1.75 to be my sweet spot.

I am obtaining a Stainless Steel head because I have an extra Wolfman Polished SS handle and stand.  It's a matter of using what I have so I can finally say to myself that I am being prudent with my shaving purchases.  Using the suggestions from this thread I am considering either a .94SB or 1.65SB.  Sounds dangerous, but I live on the edge

The .94 OC WR1 used to be my favorite shaver and it’s still one of the razors I want to love the most as it has a good amount of blade feel which I enjoy. But in reality, I don’t even reach for my WR1’s anymore because the WR2’s just shave so much better for me. Ideally, I’d say get both because that’s what I’d do but since you’re being “prudent”, go with the WR2.

Also, I’d still recommend a 1.75 or 1.85 because I’m not sure you’ll notice much difference from your 1.55 in the jump to 1.65 and don’t want you to feel like it’s superfluous. Personally, I can’t tell a difference between the 1.55 and 1.65, YMMV.

I totally agree with you Sir

In fact it is better to skip 2 gaps, as you said there are no differences other than minimal between 1.45 and 1.55 as well as between 1.55 and 1.65
