I hope everyone realizes if they keep losing money on these deals, they won’t be supplying us shaving stuff for too long.  Shipping on average is 5-6 dollars so if you don’t order 20-30 dollars worth of stuff they won’t make money and won’t stay in the shave game forever.

Logging into the site (or walking into the 34th St location) is like walking into Costco, do you really get away with spending under 100? I certainly don’t, but I can only speak for me.

If everyone spent money like this it would be different. I am sure most people don’t do it this way.

And yet he's still in business. I think he knows what he's doing. In fact the sale he has right now clearly states on that sale there is no free shipping and shipping is $10.90. I think he knows what his margins are and how to run things.

Thank goodness for that, I tend to order ~100 bucks a month from them in soaps and aftershaves ?? and try to do it in bigger orders.

I love that we have the selection and pricing that Leon offers at Pasteur's. It is a fantastic place to visit and the online experience is pretty darn good too. The online customer service is fantastic. Earlier in the year one of my orders seemed to have been lost. I contacted them and they replaced the order. No difficulties and no problems. One week after I got the replacement shipment, the post office decided to deliver the initial shipment. I called Pasteur's to attempt to pay for the double shipment but they told me to keep it. Frankly, I felt bad because I'm sure they had to eat that, rather than the post office. I am a customer for life with them because of their commitment to wet shaving, providing an awesome selection, and also for their incredible customer service. Out of respect for them, I try to manage my orders so that it maximizes the sale from their perspective. For example, recently I needed some unscented grooming department. Rather than place an order for just one tub and have them incur the free shipping, I waited until the new inventory was there so that I could pick up more than one thing. It's a small change but hopefully it helps them some. If we want businesses to thrive we can help engineer that as customers.

As an aside, I used to live near the store and now I live on the other side of the country. I really miss not being able to go there in person. There is nothing in the San Francisco area even a little bit close.

I believe Leon has a healthy pharmacy business as well. I was in the store for the first time a few months ago and he had a steady stream of customers filling prescriptions when I was there. That store was quite an experience! I am glad to have had the opportunity to visit it in person.
