If NYC Chypre was released in 2019, it might have been quite good. Since that time, Mo''s skills as a soapmaker and as a perfumer have increased dramatically. Thus, I would anticipate that whatever product replaces it will be significantly improved in both performance and in fragrance.

Since Chypres are based on citrus as a top note, I have very few of them in my collection. I tend to prefer Fougeres and Orientals. There are some scents that seem to be a cross between Chypre and Fougere; I tend to like them. Since Mo release so many different scents, everyone can find one they they will love. In my case I have a lot more than one.

Chypre Vert will not be re-released. Instead, the upcoming release is Chypre Muguet, previously released as a limited edition called NYChypre years ago. Chypre Muguet is scheduled to be included in a release that follows the Mallard release.
Thanks Mohammad,  I have been taking note of the discussion in the thread, so I am very happy to hear about the Chypre Muguet, but not surprised.  I missed the NY Chypre release, but over time, NYC's praises have been sung by many (none more eloquently than brother TommyCarioca).   Besides that, six years of required French have left me vaguely familiar with Fête du Muguet, so Chypre Muguet certainly seems like something to look forward to.

HS, trust me on this [btw i loved Chypre Vert as well]  you are going to want to stock up on the newly revised and upcoming NY Chypre!  I freaking love it. Nearly as much as L'Aventurra ?.... it may be tied....my love for NY Chypre that is.

I have a few Mallard soaps with plain labels. I suspect they are less expensive to print than the full color labels with the ducks on the front. However, I do love the Mallard photos. Thus, I like your adoption of AI.

Truth told, was happy with the old labels excepting no mention of the scent; they were classic in a very positive sense

Good job on this line-up. They all smell great but vetiver is right up my alley. The cashmere wood adds such depth and character. 11/10. Back up on the way.

I do not have a lot of Vetiver scented soaps in my collection. However, I decided to pick up a tub from Pasteur's from the Maxima release. While the earthy, woody, grassy scent is quite contrast to the soaps I typically purchase, I rather like it. It is great when I want something different. The other Vetivers in my collection are older formulas from other artisans. In comparison, Maxima stands tall on the gold medal platform.

I also picked up the matching aftershaves from Tre'sor and Iris. I do not usually purchase aftershaves, but those scents were too good to miss. All three of the products I purchased are now out of stock.

It's now time to decide which Mallard soaps I want to add to my collection. While the older Maxima release soaps are still listed on the web site, Mo has promised the Mallards will be introduced soon.

FaceScraper You'll like this announcement Smile

Yesterday, I wrote RayClem  that I would be conducting the initial testing of Maxima-Vegan today. I must say, I've just experienced an amazing shave!

I'm thrilled to announce significant progress in developing a plant-based alternative to the beloved Maxima formula. Many of you have expressed interest in a vegan option that maintains the exceptional quality users have come to expect.

I have dedicated myself to the creation of Maxima-Vegan, an exceptional plant-based formulation that aims to match the excellence of both Nai and the tallow-based Maxima. Through careful analysis of previous vegan iterations and extensive research, I have created a blend of plant-derived oils that emulates the properties of tallow. Preliminary testing indicates that this formulation achieves a performance level on par with both Nai and the tallow-based Maxima.

In the upcoming Maxima releases this year, I will introduce multiple Maxima-Vegan soaps, starting with Melody and Kölnisch as the first two options.
