I recommend it.

IMHO, DRH soaps are eons ahead of any RR soap I've used. You're familiar with using hard soaps?

I've used several that I've had better luck with. I bloom it with hot water, load the fire out of it with a mostly dry brush. I even use my smaller best badger instead of my big floppy two band on the hard soaps to load easier. I can get a good lather out of it, but dries quickly and the slickness to me is not on par with some of the other soaps. I've added water until it was dripping, just never had an excellent shave with it. I used it today, was very mindful, kept relathering as it dried, and still didn't get as comfortable a shave as with RR or B&M. I hate it, because the scent to me is just amazing. I think I'm going to give the EDT a try. I use the Windsor aftershave milk as well occasionally, love the scent, not the lanolin.

I hate lanolin more Big Grin
Seriously it's "good" to finally know someone who can share my hatred of lanolin, I can't describe it (not that I'd wish the allergy on anyone).
(Edit- Or maybe I'm reading your post wrong, since you mention you like B&M which does have lanolin.)

Anyway, I hope you didn't think I was being hostile. I do hope you get better comfort from the Windsor soon.

BUT, In full disclosure:
A. I really do not like RR (that's an understatement), so take my original post with a grain of salt if RR works well for you.

B. There is something that NO ONE TALKS ABOUT... are actually 2 versions of the soaps out in the market right now.

Most (if not all) the pucks of Arlington, Marlborough, Almond, and Lavender. These soaps have water (aqua) as the fifth ingredient.

Windsor and Sandalwood (which came out later) were released with a slightly updated formula, where water (aqua) is the third ingredient. I find this version subpar to the formulation above. There is much less cushion in this formula.

** I have bought sticks of Arlington and Lavender that displayed the second formula, which makes me believe that probably ALL scents (sticks and pucks) are CURRENTLY being produced with this formula.

C. I use triple-milled hard soaps 90% of the time or more and I am personally not a believer in blooming soaps. Do you do this for all soaps or were you just blooming bc it's a hard soap?

None taken!!

I have contemplated trying their cream or stick to see if it is different. I'll have to check the ingredient list on the puck I have.

I only bloom hard soaps. I don't have a lanolin allergy, I just don't care for the greasy feel it gives my face. Especially in the hot summers here in South Georgia. Now that it is cold I can stand a little lanolin. B&M gives me a good shave, but I can tell it has lanolin in it. Primarily why I don't use B&M as often as some of my others. I really like soap commander. Their AS balm is my go to year round.
