I love the design of the new Yaqi Midas.
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002467374282.html

Very combortable that shape of handle.
12x90mm is in my fav handle range.
Balance looks fantastic (54g) too.
Brass and golden Zamak are gorgeous.

The shape, but longer and slimmer.

I was gonna post that the handle looks like the General and the Henson had a love-child.

The head reminds me of a de89. Should be a smooth shaver, I'd gander.

Edit: BTW, this isn't a shot at it at all. I agree, that handle is quite nice looking.

Not exactly.
Chinese DE89 replicas are hommage, not clone.
The original is a Standard geometry.
Chinese is Standard Plus, with a bit more gap.
Close, but not equal.

Even nicer... I think if the DE 89 had a larger gap it would be awesome.

Now I'm considering grabbing one. Lol.

Did you order it yet? If so, post what you think of the shave (please)? Might push me over the edge to shop.

Thanks.

Edit: Looking on Aliexpress, I noticed the specs... Very curious, it having a gender. Do you think that's discernable by looking under the cap? Lol. [Image: 7e6fe7e4f5adab1256c69f0d7a566c39.jpg]

Nope.
IF you want a little help, I can tell you my fav is almost equal.
It's a hell of a daily shaver.

Looks like in description, the light weight is about Aluminium handle.
My champion PP1489 is very close:
• zamak / aluminium
• 12x100mm
• 56g (29/27)

Ahh, isn't the pp1489 a de89 head with a handle... Maggards or something?

My problem with the de89 head is, though it's smooth as silk, it usually lacks the closeness I desire. I tried the MJ90A from Razorock and I think it was slightly better, but we're splitting hairs. That's why the increased gap you mentioned for Yaqi really caught my attention. Figure it could be that next step up for an EJ-esque razor.

Yes.

The FrankenRazor I named PP1489 is:
• Edwin Jagger DE89 head
• Maggard Razors MR14 handle

I'm a three passes daily shaver.
For me, a milder geometry with more passes, It's the best way.

This is the same head.
The old MJ90 was closer to the Standard EJ DE89.

It's what I call Standard Plus.
All the Chinese "EJ-esque" heads have this geometry.
Even the Canadian (RazoRock) or US (Maggard) rebrand.
Very nice shaver, well made, with good price.

A little more effectiveness It's the Cobbled geometry.
RR Mentor or MR V3A.
Here the V3A on the MR14.

BTW, I've drop a line into Yaqi chat.
Asking explanation, and page fixing.
Next wednesday It'll be a discount selling day, as I read on another forum.
Maybe with more info, I'll grab one.
