I was encouraged to pick up this product from the claims of being close to Aventus. The Formula T is an excellent performer. The scent, for me at least, is miles away from Aventus. It smells more like a can of Del Monte Fruit Cocktail with forward pineapple and apple scent. Too bad, I really hoped it would be close. Fine platinum for me is much closer. I would categorize this scent as very similar to Stirling's Aventus knock off. Additionally, I find the scent strength to be much lighter than the average shave soap. Absolutely fantastic performer though!

interesting. I have both executive man & olympus here and I don't think they're all that super close...at least to my sniffer.

Unfortunately neither of them smell like the real deal... To me they are closer to one another than they are to Aventus. From those available, to me, Fine Platinum is the closest option. If I'd like to use Aventus though I just use a spray of the real stuff on a puck of Mike's Natural Unscented and all is right with the world.

Nice take and lather. Unfortunately, I completely disagree on both your counts concerning WSP’s Olympus and the Fine version as it compares to the real Creed Aventus scent. Fine Platinum to me has just a semi sweet vetiver take that is more synthetic with none of the inherent smokiness and the pineapple and apple vibe I percieve and get from the WSP. To my nose scent wise, Fine Platinum isn’t a pimple on Olympus’s tush when it comes to similarities of Aventus. But, as always everyone’s scent and perception is their own and YMMV and all that other good stuff, etc...

I will agree on one thing with you in that it’s an exceptional performer during and post shave. Sublime really....

Well, to be fair also, one would also have to take into consideration on whether one would have a newer version of Creed and from what batch compared to the original that was released back in 2010, in which I still have half a bottle of. I picked up a 2.5oz bottle back in 2015 and there is a very subtle difference in that bottle compared to the original. So, there are variables that can play into it. But I still think Olympus is closest to the Aventus, to me at least.....

I was just thinking the same thing. My Aventus is from 2014. It’s the only one I have sampled but have heard others comment about variation in batches.
