Pardon my delay Gents in writing my reports on the Merica & KAI blade combo. Dealing with family health issues and it has been an emotional drain and battle for the past few weeks. Forgive my delay in these write ups....

Got to use the KAI SS in the Merica Razor for a couple of shaves and it was just as good if not better than with the previous combo of the Merica & Tatra Platinum. There is a slight bump in blade feel and efficiency that adds a nice performance notch in cutting through the whiskers with ease while not sacrificing the comfort that this razor delivers. Impressed and thoroughly pleased with this creation & performance from the hands of WSC & YPM. A great razor, period. On a side note, the Dragonsbeard products are just insanely good. Top, top performers at every level.....

HI used the original Yates Precision  Razor for my Sunday shave and I loaded a new Polsilver in it and had a wonderful 2 pass shave.  The razor felt better balanced than with the new handle I got which for me makes the razor handle heavy.  The original handle s a little skinny but I enjoyed having the balance it provided.  Also I’m assuming this is the mild plate but t wasn’t so mild and as one of my shaving buddies said it’s about equal to a Charcoal Level 2 and that’s plenty of efficiency for a day and a half’s growth. So did two passes going WTG and XTG and ended up with a very solid DFS with a few areas being BBS so I was very pleased and impressed with both the  efficiency and the smoothness.  So can’t wait to get a baseplate of my own to match the top cap I have.

I’d say it was an overall good shave experience with the

Ken Surfs on YouTube just reviewed the Merica and he compared the efficiency as close to a R41. I think the razor is very smooth with efficiency beyond what you would expect but it’s no R41.

Skipped my shave last night and wanted to try the Merica razor with 2 days growth. Took down most of my beard with the WTG pass and it was extremely smooth, XTG and ATG led to a very smooth BBS. I am very impressed with this razor, and of course the ETHOS lavender I used.

Another wonderfully smooth shave tonight with the Merica razor and ETHOS Clean soap and post shave serum. This razor is providing a consistent smooth shave resulting in a 3 pass BBS it has now become my best bang for your buck razor.

Would you say it's as efficient as a CG L2 or the Everyday?
