Any way to lock the thread to Dragonsbeard  and 2nd thread for the valuable comments from forum members.  Best case is page 5 for first shave-off.

That was my suggestion many moons ago. Invariably the shave offs get buried in a mountain of comments making it near impossible to find later.

Call me dumb but I’m not sure what your suggesting as a solution to a problem with the last Shave Off which I myself had problems looking for when I wanted to revisit a particular Shave Off.  My thoughts were if I could get a partner in this Shave Off that can create an index and update after each Shave Off it would be so easy to look one up. Guys I’m drawing up the guidelines so I’m open to all suggestions on how to make things easier for the members on here.

Thanks for the input. I’d like everything set up properly before getting started with the Shave Offs.
Since there's no time limit on this forum as to when you can edit your posts, my suggestion would be to place an index at the end of your first post.
Something like: "RS-10 VS Whatever - Post # 1XX"
It won't take more than a few seconds to add a quick line to your first post.

I forgot about the no edit limit! That would make things much easier and thank you very much for the suggestion my friend. A simple solution to a problem I've been trying to figure out!

I hope DFS has enough bandwidth to accommodate this thread as I suspect all your friends and then newbies will be jumping on making it bigger and better than the first one

UPDATE:

So I have been giving this a lot of thought and I ran it by a couple of members who I talk to on the phone quite frequently just to confirm I was going in the right direction.

My thoughts are since I have to start posting the outline for the Shave Off Showdown and like I mentioned in the first post I would really like the members on here's  input & suggestions on the basic outline I'm posting up. I have a feeling that the back and forth ideas are going to take up a few pages and then there is the discussion about what razors belong in what category and the guidelines on what should be used like for example what blade should be used throughout the entire Shave Off or should I change with each category and so on and so on. My point is I have this feeling that by the time we reach a conclusion on all the guidelines  ( hate the word rules ) we will be 10 - 15 pages into the thread just setting it up!

So my suggestion is why don't we use these pages to get things all ready and set to go and then I'll ask Andrew to edit this threads title to World Shave Off Showdown guidelines or if someone has a better idea/name please feel free to post your thoughts. Once we are all set to go then I'll start a new thread with the World Shave Off Showdown II or whatever we come up with for a title and just jump into the Shave Offs. With that said I'm torn on a couple of different topics that were in the original one and I want to be sure to put them in the right spot. I've gotten two different opinions on where they should go so I'd like to hear from some of you on this.

Number 1 is:

Since I use my Skin Stretch Short Stroke Technique ( SSSST ) and I know a lot of people have now adopted it or part of it and use it in their shaves and also for those that ask me about it and those that it may be new to should I post it in the guidelines thread, Start a new thread with it so people can just go to it or put it on the 3nd page of the Shave Off right after the index page which will be the number 2 page right after the opening page. So the SSSST would appear on page 3 and then page 4 starts the very first Shave Off.  What say you guys on this?

Number 2 is:

Also I refer to BBS Shaves as Levels 1 2 and 3 with 3 being the longest lasting BBS so that's the short of it but should that be in the beginning of the thread or in this guidelines thread?

Your input on these two issues would be much appreciated.

The razors I have listed in their categories are ready and I'll post them up along with the basic outline & guidelines in the next post as I'm working on them now as I write this.

Thanks all.

I think that the Shaveoff thread should consist of only the shaveoffs and everything else should be in the guidelines thread.
