The 98 hollow WRH7 is perfect for me as I’m not a fan of heavy handles. Feels great in hand:

Good to know!  Thanks for that.  My WR2 has reached the States and is scheduled for delivery Thursday.

I'm odd man out, again. I tend to favor the Safety Bar but use as little training wheel as possible. I don't find the angle narrow either. Hmmm.

This is why I’m not really big on writing “reviews”. So many things in wet shaving are YMMV. I’m just sharing my own personal opinions about the WR2. I know that for me personally, if I’m interested in something I just need to try it out for myself. There’s no other way to be sure if something is going to work for me or not.

The only time I have checked my tracking info for a package this much was when I ordered a new processor for my theater. I have been watching my tracking info at least 5 times per day to see where my WR2 is now.

I’ve used the WR2 every day this past week, except for one day that I used a WR1 .86 OC that a good Friend of mine loaned me. After using the WR2  nearly exclusively for almost two weeks, the shaves have become very intuitive. It’s easy for me to find the somewhat narrow window now. Coupled with a Feather, my blade of choice in this Razor, the WR2 really sings and provides plenty of audible feedback letting you know when your angle is correct. I found that I don’t need to apply any pressure while shaving, just let the Razor do the work as it’s plenty efficient. The Shaves are smooth, smooth, smooth. If I had to shave daily, this would be my Razor of choice. I typically don’t shave every day, but did this week because I wanted to improve my technique with this Razor, as well as see what it was capable of.

When I shaved with the loaned WR1 .86 OC earlier this week, I was worried that it might chew me up. The most aggressive Razors I own are my Timeless.95 OC, my Blackbird OC, and my WR1 .74 OC. I had an outstanding Shave with the .86 OC, it was extremely smooth and efficient. I had zero irritation after three full passes and touch up. The Shave was every bit as smooth as my .67 and .74 WR1’s, but was just more efficient. I was worried that the shave would be harsh, but that wasn’t the case, just extremely efficient and smooth. If this carries over to the WR2, which I’m told it does, I will definitely be trying for a WR2 1.25 SB. My only thought is that although the blade gap is increased, the exposure remains the same, and it was just easier for me to find the correct angle. I’m not sure if this is the case, but I was very impressed with the results. Going forward I’d also like to get a WR1 in .80 and .86 blade gaps.

If you enjoy smooth yet efficient shaves, then the WR2 needs to be on your short list. I’m very happy with mine.

The 86 is likely my favorite WR1 gap.  The difference between a 74 an 86 can be eye opening.  Increased gap WR1s made me look at razors differently.  Razors can cut very close, and do it comfortably.  The WR2s cut just as close but do it with less blade feel and they are smoother.  Smoother than anything else I've tried.

I shaved with my .80 today. It was a nice shave, but not quite as nice as I have been getting with the WR-2, which seems to do the job better and with more comfort.

Looks like I will be ordering a .86 WR1 after I get my WR2. I’ll likely sell my .74 WR1 now that I can get a .86. I also want a WRH1 in 100mm hollow. I was so focused on ordering my WR2 that I had not even looked at all the options for the WR1 and various handle lengths on the WRH1. Maybe in a couple months. Also would love to know when James is going to start offering the titanium models again.

I've been reading your daily posts but did you ever do a complete shave with just the sb side? I'm curious what your thoughts on a complete 1.05 sb shave are.

What blade has everyone been favoring in their wr2's. Seems like feather is the general consensus so far.

I did. I don’t remember if I wrote about it. It was a good shave. It was what the doctor ordered when I was on day 6 or so and I felt my face getting fatigued. So far, I like mixing both sides/gaps most, but I wouldn’t hesitate to use the SB only again if I feel like I need it. Knowing what I know now, if I had to do it over and the DC wasn’t an option, I would go with the 1.15.

So far, I’ve only used a Polsilver. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. But maybe I will try a Feather next time I change blades.

I love the 1.15 DC. Smooth and efficient. If I did it again I would get a Standard Bar 1.15 or 1.25. OC not needed
