Wolfman WR2 Head Discussion

I've been reading your daily posts but did you ever do a complete shave with just the sb side? I'm curious what your thoughts on a complete 1.05 sb shave are.

I did. I don’t remember if I wrote about it. It was a good shave. It was what the doctor ordered when I was on day 6 or so and I felt my face getting fatigued. So far, I like mixing both sides/gaps most, but I wouldn’t hesitate to use the SB only again if I feel like I need it. Knowing what I know now, if I had to do it over and the DC wasn’t an option, I would go with the 1.15.

So far, I’ve only used a Polsilver. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. But maybe I will try a Feather next time I change blades.

I’ve been using wizamets in the 1.05 the .95 requires a feather imo.

Outstanding shave this afternoon with the new 1.25. 2.5 pass effortless BBS. I think I am really finished buying razors. I am so glad I went for the 1.25 gap because this razor is still extremely smooth and a 10+ on the efficiency side. I found the perfect angle just a bit off of riding the cap. Nice blade feedback and some blade feel but not too much at all. No nicks weepers or irritation. James’ redesign of this razor is so good that once you get one in the blade gap of your preference, you may not want or need another razor. I have really reached that shave nirvana feeling on the DE side of things. I did my first pass with the OC side and the next 1.5 passes with the SB side. I know a lot of people say they don’t need the OC side but I really liked it. Just as much as the SB side. I used a Feather blade that I had used twice. First use was in the Raw Shaving RS-10 and second use was in the Karve F plate. Both of those shaves were excellent but this one in the WR2 was just on the highest level and I think it was because I got the DC version. This razor is the best of both worlds with the OC and the SB side in 1.25 gaps. Just amazing! If I can answer any questions, feel free to ask away. By the way, the brushed finish is just beautiful on this razor!

Thanks so much for the review now I am convinced to get a 1.25 I have a WR2 DC 1.15 and I was concerned that maybe 1.25 would be to much but from what you described that's exactly what I will get especially since it's still smooth and very efficient at 1.25. The only thing I have to say is that I prefer the SB side to the OC side just by a hair!!!

The funny thing is that James sent me an email asking if I wanted to go that aggressive with this razor. I sent him several laughing faces and told him I was definitely sure! Don’t let that blade gap scare you guys. The design of this razor is absolutely incredible and the smoothness of it is really incomparable!
