I received a number of comments on my Wolfman Razors video from this weekend about Wolfman increasing their prices 30-40%.  Is this a rumor or is it confirmed?

Chris it's on the wolfman razors site as well. It's not going to effect the ppl on the list now but will future buyers requesting razors after July 1st. And yes it says the price increase will b 30-40 percent.

Yea, I see that line now.   I hate to see that as I think it will put the Razor out of reach for many folks.

Chris,

I think you are correct about it being out of reach for many once the increase takes place, but James does have his reasons. Per his website:

"Why increase the prices?

To allow for new projects to take place.   Higher prices should reduce demand, freeing up the machines for new designs.
To allow for personal service.   Customers have indicated that they prefer a razor made exclusively for them.  Custom handles, blade geometry, custom engraving, etc.  This can and should be done.  The goal is to listen to suggestions and requests,  and accommodate them whenever it is possible.
To allow more time to improve surface finishing and quality.   Machining is only half of the job.   The hand finishing is extensive to bring out the best quality finish on every surface possible.   This is not the same as mass production and should not be done in a hurry.   Output will be 300-600 per year.
All those who have emailed to reserve a razor before July 1 2015 will not be affected by the price change.
The actual price increase will be 30-40 percent of current prices."

My only suggestion would be to email James at:  info@wolfmanrazors.com in order to get on the waitlist ASAP.

Don't get me wrong, I think he has every right to price as he sees fit.  I also have a soft spot for folks who want to enjoy a premium experience on a budgetSmile  I know that's a tall order but I'm always thankful when a company hits the mark on this.

Also, it looks like the price on the BBS-1 sold through LA Shaving will be increased as well, from $225 to $299.

Your story is kinda what I was afraid of.  I hate that the razor will fall out of the range of some folks.  I really enjoy it when more folks get to experience these fine products.

I too hope that he price increase doesn't keep folks from trying them out as they are great shavers! I like mine alot and I am glad I got them before his increase goes into effect because if I did have to pay 30-40 percent more, I would probably have just stayed with my ATT's. I mainly went after the heads anyway as I already have handles that work fine for me. I have the Bulldog, the Bamboo and a couple of stainless ones from Maggard that I like.
