I don't see the confusion. If you have 94 people all joining the list at exactly the same time (i.e., the instant they can) wouldn't you get 94 entries in 2 seconds?  What is suspect?  Am I missing something?  Is there any surprise to anyone that this is what happened?

It sounds like everyone is surprised, except maybe those who got a slot. Wolf Whiskers already went through this same exact things, except I think he had even more people sign up. He still went with the names in order. I think his new method is much better. He no longer announces when he is opening his list, and instead you just have to keep checking his website. His list still gets full as far as I can tell, but not in 30 seconds.

I don't have much of a problem with any method that gets applied if once it is announced it is followed. If there is some really good reason to change course, so be it. That was clearly not the case today. Incidentally, 29 of the 40 names picked were not on the original closed list of 135. Those 29 came in later during the reopening. Makes no sense.

WW's method of not announcing list openings is as good as any and probably better than most. It rewards those more frequently accessing shave sites, which seems to make some rational sense. Also good to avoid a mad, frenzied dash for the goods.

I'm not taking a position. I have a Wolfman open comb I've had for a long time, obtained at a really good price. James had great customer service, in my experience, including taking time to advise me on finish and blade gap. His free and thoughtful advice was spot on. All I have to add is that until James chimes in, we don't really know what happened, or what will happen next. If he chooses not to chime in, I encourage you all to remember he's a classy guy, who may or may not have made a mistake (which, in the greater scheme, is not that important).

P.S. I'm reminded of the words of my father, who was responding to my questioning of a decision that he had made: "Until you've walked in another man's moccasins, you're not entitled to judge him."

I like the quote you did from your father CCity. Great food for thought.

Thanks. I severely understated my response to my dad's decision. Suffice it to say I was outraged and judgmental. Questioning is always a healthy dynamic, whether within my family or on this forum.

I don't have a horse in this race but, why weren't numbers 1 through 40 the people selected to buy razors? Seems odd.

I think you're spot on with that assessment of the waitlist numbering system. Although I did get into the final forty and I wasn't in the first forty on the list but if what you say is true and I think that is the case then it is immaterial where we all initially were in the first instance except the fact we were on the list.

I dont have a card in this game either (already own a wolfman), but if you have 40+ (or 94 in this case) people ready to click GO at a pre determined time why is it suspect that there were that many entries in a short period of time. 43 nascar drivers push the gas all at the same time when green flag waves (or any other type of race). Is 2 seconds the actual time captured in log files or is "2 seconds" just a descriptor phrase for "short period of time". I certainly do not want to debate this - too much drama for me.

I was more just explaining what I interpreted from his comments and giving him the benefit of the doubt. My initial thought was the same as yours, but it's not worth it to me to dwell over it. I'm sure he'll sort it out next time.

This was a trainwreck. It was so far removed from the spirit of wetshaving that it's sad. When you can go from one minute being an enthusiast to the next not wanting anything to do with a company, then I'd say the system is not working.
