So, I have been checking the website for some time to no avail, but it occurred to me that I am not sure I even know what to order if I had the opportunity. Can I please get some advice from those in the know?

I currently use a Rockwell 6s on plate 3 and like it a lot. Maybe it could be a tad more aggressive, say an imaginary plate 3.5. I also use a Colonial General with a Feather Pro and get good results. A few months back I was able to buy a Paradigm 17-4. It gave me a very close shave and I really wanted to like it, but I often felt beat up. It was just too much for me as I am daily shaver. I sold it.

I have been thinking about a Wolfman. What do you all recommend? What blade gap? What head.. I was thinking maybe a DC? Also what material...the annodized ones look fancy? Lastly, what handle? I think the whr7 is beautiful but I like really grippy handles and maybe I would be better with the whr2?

You’d probably be OK with a standard gap (0.61) solid bar. If you like grippy handles, the WRH1 is the one you should get, the WRH2 has less grip and the 7 even less (I had all 3 of them).

What do you think of dual comb? Should I just go solid bar? As for handles, I thought the 2 looked at little nicer than the 1.

If your liking a milder #3 on the Rockwell, I say go with the .54 gap, it’s on the mild side but still very efficient and a close shaver. It’s my favourite razor.

+1 I have the WR 1 with the standard gap and I find it considerably more aggressive than the Rockwell on plate #4.

I had the .61 in SS and found it to be mild. It gave a very good shave, but I then got a .74 in Ti and Love it. IMHO the .61 is smoother than the 17-4 but not as efficient and the .74 is not as smooth as the 17-4 but as efficient. I have only had the 7 and the 2 handles. I love the look of both but I found the 2 to have better grip. Both of mine are Duel combs, which I like as it gives me the OC for the first pass and the SB for the second and touchups.

I have the WR 1 standard gap Dual plate and I consider it a smooth but decently efficient shaver but it definitely has a very small sweet spot that's kind of like my Fat handled British Tech and if you find it the razors transforms into awesome shaver and I've gotten some very nice irritation free BBS shaves out of mine. I have quite a few much more efficient razors in my den but with good technique and once you find that sweet spot I think it will be the perfect set up for you based on your input. Handle choice is a personal thing my first two have HR 7 handles and I have no issues with the handle and love the looks of it but the next one will be brass with the HR 2 handle.
Good hunting!

I have the 74SB, 80SB, and 80OC. The 74 is good for up to 3 days growth. 80s will tackle anything. I prefer the 74 for daily use.

The 80 is almost as efficient and a Timeless 95OC scalloped but not as smooth.

The next Wolfman I order will be another 80, but more likely the 86SB.

I'll get back to you on handles. 2 I don't have is the 2 and 7. They are in route tho. Should be here Friday. I'll take a picture of them all side by side so you know relative lengths. My favorite, so far, is the 3. It has lots of high polished surface area. Just a beauty.

The 7 could change my mind if it's on the longer side.

I have a WR-1 DC with standard gap (.61) a long handle and I'd liken it to the Rockwell on plate 6. Very efficient shaver.

Unless you ordered a custom length, all his handles are 100mm Smile. I had a WRH7 and currently have 2 WRH2's. WRH2 is by far my favorite handle. Loving my .74 gaps so I'll need to try the .80 and .86!
