Big Grin  Are you saying Genghis Khan was dirty? I suppose all that time on horseback with little opportunity to bath might result in what some may consider "dirty".  Will this one be available at vendors in Canada?

Lol. It is said 1 in 200 men are direct descendants of Genghis Khan.

It will be available with Canadian vendors as well.

Well, better that than a Hollywood Producer!! The history of Genghis Khan and the Mongols is fascinating. I don't know if The Leather Project is the final name or a working name for this soap but you could do worse than naming it after the Mongol empire although that might be a lot for a soap to live up to!

"Project Leather – Leather, Tobacco, Cognac, Rum, Oud and Sandalwood.  The scent evokes memories of Winston Churchill meeting Genghis Khan arriving on horseback with a modern day leather saddle

Date: November 2017"

Waiting on labels for Project Leather.  Should be ready after Fougère Bouquet Special Edition soap, EdT and EdP.

Looks like I will be placing at least two more orders this month... Smile

Yup. Ordered the Merchant of Tobacco today from Maggards (free shipping offer). I'm working on a sample of the Fougère Bouquet (vegan) and the performance is excellent and just love the scent. I paired it with B&M Cheshire and it smells great together. I will, of course, have to get the matching aftershave too.

That sounds interesting, can you give me a frame of reference - how will Project Leather compare to Cuero Oscuro?  And for what its worth, Genghis Khan would kick Churchill's butt.  Just saying.

The leather accord in Project Leather is quite different from the one that is used in Cuero Oscuro.  The leather scent is less dirty than Cuero Oscuro and more refined. And in order to make it more refined tobacco, bourbon and other notes are added that takes the leather to a different dimension.  Think of dirty meeting refined.

Merchant of Tobacco is rich, dark, and decadent. All of the other notes that you added compliment the tobacco really well. I'm looking forward to seeing what you can do with leather. the complimentary notes you had listed sound fantastic and think they'll give the leather a ton of depth.

I'm not trying to whisper too much in your ear, but i'd love to see a "project wood" sometime in the future from Wholly Kaw. based on what you've already done with Tobacco and what you're working on with Leather, i think you can come up with something truly unique and special. i'm not talking about a "stroll through the forest" wood like Boreal from Tallow and Steel or Coniferous from Stirling.

im thinking of mahogany, teak, cedar, rounded out with notes of pipe tobacco, leather, sandalwood, musk, fir, and maybe some cognac or bourbon. maybe throw in some amber, benzoin, a touch of vanilla or warm spices. its what i would imagine the smell would be like if i walked into an old lounge or study in royal geographical society in the 1800s.

you could rock the daylights out of that scent.

Project Wood concept sounds interesting and thanks for planting the seed. Reminds me of a perfume from the notes you had listed.

I am happy you liked Merchant of Tobacco.

For a minute there, I thought there was going to be a Genghis Kahn soap! I am so in....!

The description sounds very intriguing, I will surely grab a set of this. That project wood sounds fantastic as well, with my scent preference leaning towards woody aromatics, this sounds right up my alley.

You got it right in that Project Leather is a working name. The name will be published along with the graphics of the label next week.

The pre-order will be open for a week. And we start shipping after the pre-order closes.

Does that mean it will be released in November or December?
