The performance in yesterday's lather with Forest City Fern wasn't the best or even what i've come to expect from Shannon's.   Granted, it wasn't bad.  It just wasn't "right".  Unfortunately, the lather performance today wasn't any better.  I'm becoming a firm believer that once a soap gets near the bottom of the tub, there's just a noticeable difference in the performance.  Maybe this is all in my head, but I've noticed this in the past few tubs I've finished.  On the bright side, if I start ditching the soap with 15 to 20 grams of soap left, I'll be able to finish tubs more quickly Happy2

A repeat of yesterday’s great shave.  Such a great Sumer scent and although it’s not summer yet, with temps hitting 90 today and tomorrow it seemed like a great choice.  Shoot, I’m hotter than Dallas and at 4800 feet elevation here at the house that seems a bit too hot for a fat man.  The tomatoes love it though.  Shoot, it snowed about 10 days ago.  The soap will have the donut of death on its next outing.

Apsley Cream v. (Truefitt & Hill) Terre d’Hermès(ish)

Smell the tub and you’ll immediately think of Terre d’Hermès. The grapefruit, the cedar, the stony bits, it’s all there. But make up your lather and you may be surprised when a gust of oak moss comes welling up. More than once I thought Apsley smelled as much like Eucris as it did like Terre d’Hermès. A little unexpected, but by no means off putting. In fact, the fragrance is improved by a little more weight in the bottom. And the lather – so quick, slick, and easy – led to a great shave.
