Oxford & Cambridge t. (Czech & Speake) ★★★★☆ lavender, mint, oakmoss
For cushion, this lather is faultless. You could shave with a rusty steak knife and do yourself no harm. I understand that Valobra makes this remarkable soap base; C&S just supply the scent. What their fragrance contributes is a fresh mix of lavender and mint. Unfortunately, it's not awfully strong or long lasting, so it gets clogged down in the soap base's heavy clay notes and disappears before the last pass. O&C used to be one of my favorite soaps, a part of each Sunday morning. The suds are still excellent, but now I think I can find a few other soaps with a cleaner, richer lavender.
