Woods of Windsor shaving soap (tallow), an underrated and excellent one.

Hallows t. (Barrister & Mann Glissant) chocolate vetiver

Smells like what your kids brought home in their plastic pumpkins after trick-or-treating: cheap chocolate, bruised fruit and dirt. The scent is remarkable only for its audacity. I'm kind of glad this one comes around only once a year.

The shave, by the way, was magnificent.

Hallward's Dream t. (Storybook Soapworks) bergamot, sandalwood, musk

Always nice to see a well-written review for a soap that seems to fly “under the radar”.

Barrister and Mann Hallows

The performance of the Glissant base is just remarkable, I much enjoy every aspect of using it. The scents are also fantastic. I adore the scent of Hallows, but I must say that in this case, although the scent of the soap is remarkably similar to the aftershave, the latter magnifies the experience and takes it to another level. The eau de toilette then seems to take things into a smokier direction — at first. However, after a while, it returns to the place where the aftershave left off. Wonderful creations, these. Sad that they are leaving Barrister and Mann’s repertoire for good tonight.
