Orange Chill + Piacenza (Stirling Soap Co.) sweet orange, Acqua di Parma Colonia, menthol
Stirling's mentholated soaps are a summertime staple for many of us. The scents are straightforward, the lather is excellent, and the chill refreshes hot sagging skin. Sometimes, though, the menthol is a little too fresh. I like Orange Chill a lot, but I don't like the shivers that come with it. So, I cut it with an equal amount of Piacenza, Stirling's homage to Acqua di Parma colonia. The two scents complement each other very well. Piacenza lends some woody depth while Orange Chill boosts the brightness. In fact, I like the combination of the two more than I like each scent standing on its own. And now the lather's not so cold that that I get the shakes by the third pass.
