Oud-Santal (Le Père Lucien) aloeswood & sandalwood
Once again a wee knob of soap smeared in the scuttle made a thick, light lather that led to an excellent shave. The smooth finish this soap yields is on the same rung as my finest soaps. The scent reminds me of a blend of aloeswood and sandalwood incense that's priced to burn every day. I don't think there's more than a drop of real agar or sandal essence in this soap, but its synthetic substitutes hint at that musty austere funk that's the hallmark of good oud.
