How do you like the scent abd the scent strength on this one?  I have been interested.

It smells pleasant and not overpowering. The scent strength is about 5 out of 10. To me It smells like a dryer sheet I've used before but not as synthetic. I want to say it was snuggle spring flowers or the island hibiscus and rainflower.

Thanks for the description, nodstonothing. That actually sounds very pleasant to me. Then again, based on my limited experience, Cold River Soap Works is reliable, when it comes to pleasant scents.

Pre de Provence. Our first time together. Reserving judgment until I can get in a few more shaves. I think I didn't use enough water. First impressions though are generally good. Good clean scent, fairly easy to lather, and probably good glide and cushion once I get the water right.

Nanny’s Silly Soap (NSS — Traditional Formula) Down Home Summer

This soap somewhat reminds me of the characteristics of The Los Angeles Shaving Soap Company (LASSCo) soap. Even with just a slightly damp brush, when loading the soap it quickly explodes into a light, airy lather. When I load a soap, I want a relatively thick paste that I can work into a lather later. When the soap already works itself into a lather upon loading, there’s not much to work with later on…

The lather got a little better on my face, when I put some effort into it, along with some more water, of course. This soap provides good slickness & glide, but not as much cushion or protection. The scent is described as “earthy with floral summer notes”. To me, the emphasis was on earthy, but I found the dry scent quite pleasing. This would be a soap for those who like a simple, light soap. I’ll have to try NSS’s other formulas at some point, to see how they differ from the Traditional.
