Desmond’s Barrow Mossly Lime
As the soap started foaming excessively when I was loading the brush, I was afraid that I had left too much water in the brush, and would get an airy, subpar lather. But I kept loading more soap, and was able to create a lather that didn’t have too much air, but had all the qualities I look for in an excellent soap (sheen, cushion, slickness). The scent is very enjoyable and the post-shave was pleasing. A really nice soap!

Cologne Russe (Barrister & Mann) citrus, herbs, bay
I’m not really a fan of bay rum, so when I read that bay was a part of this soap’s scent profile, I hesitated trying it. The fact is, though, this bay is pretty nice. It's fairly faint, so I can't tell it's bay leaf (laurus nobilis) or Jamaican bay (pimenta racemosa), but it sure is mellow, and it doesn’t get in the way of all the other good stuff that’s happening in this soap. It just fills the gaps and holes between the major notes, giving your nose as smooth a ride as your razor.
