Mystic Water Soap Sweet Briar
Another very enjoyable scent from MWS. Pipe tobacco, indeed, just as the decription states. Loaded my synthetic brush properly and was rewarded with a very pleasing lather — and this is the original formula soap. I paired it with the Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements Cavendish aftershave balm, and the combination was just about perfect.

Abricot (Le Père Lucien) apricot, peach, light florals

Cyril puts a nice dollop of Shea butter in his Abricot. That brings the number of ingredients in this soap to seven, about half the number found in most artisanal soaps. Does the soap’s performance suffer because of its simplicity? Not at all. It makes a slick, rich emulsion that my razor skated over like a shearwater skimming the crest of a white wave. Before trying Abricot, my only grouse with Le Père Lucien was that it was so lean it left my skin dry for about an hour after the shave. The Shea butter fixes that with cool comfort all the day through.

A few of Cyril’s other soaps come in only one size, 98 gram tins. They’re a convenient little pot for traveling, but around the house I much prefer the 200 gram tubs that give enough elbow room to swab a brush properly.

Bouki's daily balladry is a joy to read and will ensure my den is always well stocked.

L&L Grooming After the Rain.
Just a wonderful and unique lather in the realm of Jabonman, CRSW.

L&L's Unconditional Surrender (Chatillon Lux's homage to Ulysses S. Grant) should be available any day now.

Floris No. 89 shaving soap (tallow) and shaving cream. Great stuff. It makes the best lather I've ever experienced.

I completely agree. Every time, it’s like reading a passage from a fine book about one of my favorite subjects. Smile Thank you, Bouki.
