I like the soap a lot and might try distilled water. I don't find it easy to lather but that might do the trick.

Glad you got a chuckle out of it. Yes, my brush begged for mercy. It really is a very good soap. Probably should come with a heart rate monitor.

I have been using distilled water for many years. I soak my brush in it while showering and wet my brush with it before loading. There is no soap including Mitchell’s Wool Fat and Bath House Spanish Fig & Nutmeg that I have problems achieving a bowl full of later. A gallon generally costs $0.88 to $0.99. Believe me it is worth it. Hard tripled milled soap can be a problem with hard water.

I got my best protecting and slickest shave using TOBS Peppermint / B&M Seville super lather. Unbelievable!

I think I had enough lather for roughly 8 passes as well. Seriously, I can't even stress how perfect this combo was today.

EDIT: And absolutely Zero prep as well.
