HS - agreed..... Both lathers are lacking in my view. I quickly used my stashes of these in the shower as there are too many great soaps to lather with these.

I'm thinking it's time for another soap to die. I'm going to try using this soap every day (except Thu°Rose°days) until it's kicked.

I'm going to have to remember that.  This Mile High will be a great shower soap once the heat and humidity arrive, hopefully later than sooner Smile

Dave:

What is your opinion on this soap and aftershave?  I just picked up a set and am evaluating it.

Give em another try.  Chris is making soaps that please me. And he does scent more consistently than anyone else in the biz.

Haslinger - Salbei (tallow)

Why do I use this so often, when I have so many beloved and underused soaps? Well, I love this clean natural scent. And it sits next to the sink in arms' reach, ready for any time that I don't know what I want to use or that I don't have time but need a (fantastic) shave quickly. Delivers in spades, it doesn't miss anything: lathering, scent, performance, post.

Beauté Sauvage (Ethos) nag champa
Shave 1

Looking at the label, I got to thinking of a day at the zoo. I expected the fragrance would be something feral reeking of musk, castoreum, and leather. But that’s not where this scent is headed at all. Rather, Beauté Sauvage smells like the nag champa incense my wife burns when she does yoga. It starts out fresh and fruity with two bright citrus notes, bergamot and yuzu. They give way to ylang ylang and rose, a pair of floral powerhouses. After the shave, these bold floral notes settle down into spicy cardamom and turmeric. But what truly lingers in my brush is immortelle and resins (they bring up images of the Egyptian section in a museum for some reason). In others words, there’s a lot going on here.

Beauté Sauvage is beautiful, undeniably, but there’s a twist – this soap also reminds me of curry. Indian food has always been a favorite of mine. I enjoy the complex layers of rich flavor. This soap feels like a nod to those same comforting traditions. Big thumbs up for me.

Frank, have you altered your F-base recently? This soap seems especially slick. It gave me a marvelous shave today.

FaceScraper, if any one can pull it off, you can ... although I have to admit, you've got some competition. Rebus Knebus is dropping pucks at a rate of one per week. Marvelous work, both of you! And FaceScraper, I love the handle on your brush. Where did you come by that?
