What soap/cream did you use today?

Wholly Kaw King of Oud. It's my first time using it. Loved it; great performance and scent.

Varen by Stirling. This stuff is an absolute oakmoss bomb (which means I love it).

I snagged this from Marhos24 on the BST. Great aquatic scent and fantastic performance from this one. I just might have to pick up the matching splash.

Yessir! It arrived via FedEX this morning, right before I was ready to jump in the shower then shave. Timing was perfect.

Dark Limes v. (Meißner Tremonia) lime & peel

Meißner Tremonia pride themselves on their scents, and they have every right to be proud. They use very nice essential oils, and they’re usually quite generous with them. Of the dozen or so soaps I’ve tried, I really haven’t been disappointed. My only regret is that over time these curious natural scents disappear, sometimes quickly. So when a new box of Dark Limes inexplicably showed up in the mail, I tore into it to get at the fragrance while it was still fresh. Compared to my old puck of Dark Limes, this new puck was a revelation. Deep rich lime, vivid green petitgrain, and a solid dose of litsea cubeba combined to make the most authentic lime scented soap I’ve ever tried. It doesn’t have all the bright notes of a freshly slice lime, but the pithy bits and pulp and deep down limy-ness are all there. What’s not there is any notion of hard candy or household cleaners. This just smells like fresh citrus. Now that the weather’s gone hot and sticky, I may be dipping into Dark Limes regularly. And to help keep things cool, I ordered Stirling’s Frost Drops as well as some Koolada (synthetic menthol). Summer’s come early this year.

You’re up next shave, Dom, I finally put together what I felt were the BEST Bay Rums of new and old for “ME.”   Review coming this weekend, it’s long overdue however I had to acquire some “Fanboy” soaps and pull a few surprises to understand why I like your product over another or vice versa.  Besides, Pirates ain’t easy to draw….

Now, keeping performance in mind, do you think Sri can outdo himself building an equally dark and awesome scent? Try King of Bourbon, ha. Just when you think you’ve crowned the King of Dark Scents this one comes along. Don’t read into the “what its supposed to smell like caption under its photo.” One thing I learned here at the DFS Soap Hangout is “things are not always what someone else smells!”
