Strong ’n Scottish v. (Meißner Tremonia) charred whisky barrel
If you’re going to make an unusual scent, you might as well make it loud. Strong ’n Scottish smells like the inside of a charred whisky barrel that’s just been drained of its contents. As the name suggests, it’s strong. Lid off, it easily perfumes the whole lower level of the house, even with all the windows open and a stiff breeze blowing. Is it agreeable? I suppose that’s a matter of taste, but I find it remarkable not only for its volume as for its audacity. I get notes of peat, whisky, wood ash, and Listerine. I’ve smelled several other cade soaps before, but none has the depth and complexity of SnS. And none is as frankly beautiful as this with it’s dark chocolate puck housed in a deep violet jar and graced with a Jacobean walnut label. One of the most remarkable soaps I’ve ever used.
