Too much water in the lather today.  This was only the 2nd time I've used LPL and, obviously, I need to practice.

No. 88 t. (Czech & Speake) rose, plumeria, vetiver, sandalwood

For many years, No. 88 was Ozzy Osborn’s signature scent. Needless to say, it’s loud and lasting (at least the cologne is). This soap, though, is actually pretty tame, but at the same time it’s wonderfully complex. I get fruity notes like melon and grapes, and lots of wood, and of course, a deep rich rose. The lather is what you would expect from a soap made by Valobra: heavy, rich, and deep. If you like the original Art of Shaving pucks and wish you could find something that matches their performance, C&S isn’t a bad place to start.

Near the end of last year, I read that Valobra was bought by the company behind the Proraso brand. I’m not sure what that means for the brand in the long run, but for now, it seems to be mostly sold out, along with Czech & Speake…

Can you give us some details on how it smells?

I imagine it smells like NYC, but that conjures up thoughts of dirty cabs and overflowing garbage cans. Probably not the scent they went with. Lol.
