Tidepool: This one's new to me. What can you tell us about Hendrix Classics?

This is a sample I received from the manufacture. Go to the Merchants thread and see if samples are still available. It is a good soap, great on the face and makes great lather (bowl). See if sample are still available. Really liked your shoes.
Love it when a soap maker gets involved with the community. This guy seems really committed to making a good product and interacting with the community.

Lots of great reviews from so many of you who have been in this hobby a lot longer than I. The soap on his Etsy page is super cheap too, so I went ahead and ordered it... Absolutely worth a shot.

Thanks Tidepool!

Vetiver t. (Mike’s Natural Soaps) nutty vetiver

How do you chose which soap you’ll use each morning? I ask because I've tried so many methods: matching them to the season or the weather, pairing them with the days of the week, organizing them by country of origin, sorting them by their age or the cost of each lather, or even sifting them by the color of the puck. In the end, I like all my soaps, and most days I’d be happy to lather any of them, but I get tired of the sorting and selecting. So, a few days ago I decided to stop fussing over complicated categories. Instead, I wrote a small function into my spreadsheet to suggest a random soap each morning. So far it’s worked great. The best part is when it dredges up an old tub that I haven’t touched in months and lets me rediscover why I got it in the first place. That happened this morning with Mike’s Vetiver, a soap I used frequently a couple years ago, though lately it’s been gathering dust. What a heavenly thick lather. What a pleasant earthy-nutty vetiver. Great soap, great shave.

Ah, First world problems eh? Haha, I have done the same sorting but finally quit that and work on a new method. I keep most of my soaps in a garage fridge. We don't use the crisper drawers so those are filled with soaps. I keep about another crisper drawer worth of soap in the house. About every other month or so the house soap swaps places with one of the crisper drawers and I rotate through that. There are some that never leave the house though because of the trip they take me on.

The Mikes Vetiver is one I picked up a while back due to your advice. Earthy and nutty sums it and now I'm wishing I wasn't in a hotel away from that tin. Mmmmm.

WCS Oriental (CB version)... Like this soap, it has a good scent and great performance. I can't wait to get my sample of Catie's Bubbles Irish Cream. Possibly my first shave when it arrives.
