What soap/cream did you use today?

Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet shaving soap (tallow)

I sure do like Haslinger and Coconut is as good as any. This is the older tallow version. Lathers easy and produces a great slick lather. Like all Haslinger soaps I've tried, scent level is low. If you are a coconut lover you won't find a snootful of coconut in this one. The coconut I get smells pretty artificial so no mental trip to the islands here. What I do get, however, is a really great shave. Always do with Haslinger.

Cèdre-Patchouli v. (Le Père Lucien) ★★★☆☆ cedar, patchouli

You'll get a close shave but it may be at the expense of the top layer of skin on your face: there's not much cushion in these old LPL soaps. The lather doesn't last long, either. But Cèdre-Patchouli smells nice, like an old cedar chest packed with Indian shawls.

Have yet to try an LPL soap. Too many other great soaps to work through already in my cabinet. That said, this scent would be my first choice.
