Declaration Grooming Sweet Lemon

Haven’t decided which current Declaration Grooming soap base I like more. All I know is that they both perform brilliantly, and never fail me.
(On the other hand, the current jars do not impress. The threading on this particular one demands considerable effort to open and close.)
Whenever I go to shave, I assume there’s someone else on the planet shaving, so I say “I’m gonna go shave, too.”

Bay Rum t. (Turtleship Shave Co.) washed-out bay rum
This bay rum is very mild, almost bland. It fades in and out like a radio station broadcasting from the other side of the island. At first I thought my sample was mislabeled. When I cracked it open I got a faint puff of pine and smoke. I didn't recognize it as bay rum until way in the back I picked up some cloves. A drop of water brought out a faint trace of bay. The rummy part never really materialized.
The performance was more satisfying. Rich with tallow, lanolin, Shea, jojoba, and aloe, the lather offered a slick shave and a plump finish. Next time, though, I'll add a few drops of ancient bay rum to put a fragrant breeze in this turtleship's sails.
