I found Lisa's tub to be a perfect size for a travel soap.  You have to pick your brush carefully.  I used a Razorock 400 for a recent trip and it worked out perfectly--this is a synthetic (for travel--my only one)  and the bristles do not splay.  I was able to load from the tub easily.  I like the fact that I am getting through this tub proportionately quicker due to its size.

It may be of interest to you that you can reach out to Lisa via email and request a particular scent.  She is very accessible.
Good morning, Southsider! Thanks very much for your tips. You're right, Lisa's is a great soap base. I noticed that you used the Somali Rose the other day, and that led me to trying a tub of my own. All I can say is, you've got excellent taste in shaving soaps.

I'm very happy to see a soap maker offering 3 ounce tubs. To me, that's the perfect amount: enough to form a puck for easy lathering, but not so much that it sits on your shelf for years without visibly diminishing. And I'll get used to Lisa's small containers. After all, Klar comes in a tin that's the same size, and lathering it has turned out to be no bother. Thanks, too, for recommending the Razorock 400. That's my standard synthetic brush, so I'll give that one a whirl next time.

Lisa's Absinthe gave me a great shave yesterday, so good in fact that I ordered another tub and few more samples. I'm looking at the Coconut Oud, which doesn't have any cinnamon listed among the ingredients, as a good place to start.

Lemongrass & Eucalyptus (Mike's Natural Soaps)

A great casual, warm weather scent, Lemongrass & Eucalyptus is neither complex nor long lasting, so it won't clobber your cologne. Yes, it does smell like furniture polish and cake batter. In other words, it's clean and inviting. The lemongrass is vivid and authentic, and the eucalyptus gives the scent a broad foundation along with a medicinal twang. This last part makes the puck smell a little cough droppy, but the lather is as smooth and mild as a fresh cup of lemongrass tea.
