Haven't used this blade for a little bit after a couple of disheartening attempts at refreshing the edge that seemed to leave it worse off than before. So, as a matter of curiosity, I took it back to my synthetic water stones, to see if the blade responded to them differently than it does to the Arkansas oil stones I had tried the last 2 times, and MAN what a difference!!

I don;t know why. Could be me, could be the blade, could be the efficacy of the techniques employed on the days I tried to hone it, but whatever the reason, this blade was not happy coming off the Arks. 5k and 10k on Naniwa Super Stones, followed by the Shoubudani to finish, and she [provided a fantastic shave.

That's part of what intrigues me so much about honing. No matter how many edges I put to stone, I learn something new with each blade. Very cool hobby, if you ask me!
