Still going strong with the WR2 1.25SB. I’ve been using it exclusively for at least the last 6 weeks possibly more. This a a great gap that handles anything I throw at it and leaves me with perfect results every time with a two pass shave and zero cleanup. I experimented with a couple of different Wolfman handles and while I usually prefer the solid 90mm variety, this razor came alive with the slightly lighter and longer 3/7 solid hybrid handle. Now that I have some extended time under my belt with this combo I’m going to go back to a WRH1 and see if I can still tell a difference or not. Either way a great overall gap that still mows down anything in its path with smooth irritation free results.

Haircut and Shave Co. N075, with a new Astra blade. One day’s growth. Some small weepers but I think that’s because it was one day’s growth and I am “trying” too hard.

I’m pretty much brand new to wet shaving and this was my first time with this particular razor. I have been sticking with more mild razors, using a sharper blade, on the theory that this will result in decent shaves, and allow me to develop my technique without too much blood loss. The EJ DE89 is nice and mild and a Rockwell 6S on Plate 3 seems user friendly and good. I’ve also tried a Timeless SS scalloped bar 68. That seems to require more effort due to the greater weight and some slight blade feel. My skin has gotten more sensitive (I’m shaving off grey hair and am late to the game). Still, I’m having a lot of fun learning the ropes and exploring different types of razors. Happy shaving!
