In the last pairing I misidentified the Gillette as a New Improved when it was another Old Style and I certainly should have known better but obviously "jess forgot".  BUT the results remain.

This next pairing pits a Gillette New LC against a Merkur 25C, the long handle Open Comb razor. I'm still using the same set of Feather blades so this will be shave three for each.

The brush is an EverReady Pure Badger, the last brush on the upper shelf.

The soap is a sample of Weekend in Malibu from Stirling but I've never been able to get really great lather from any of the Stirling soaps I've tried.  They are moderately slick and always really smell great but just don't behave like other soaps or creams I love.  I will also use the same soap with the second razor just to keep things fair.

Today's shave was certainly PDG and the only slightly negative feature was that it was not as enjoyable as others have been this month. With the RazoRock Old Type, the I shudda known it Old Type on the Bar handle and the Merkur 1904 the feeling was one of disappointment when you couldn't find even one more bit of stubble to work on while this shave was simply really, really efficient but what's done is done.

The result was smooth even in the really really difficult spots, pretty much effortless an not drag, no scrapes, no cuts, no nicks no sting even from the Alum block or Clubman Bay Rum. And since it still has almost all its original gold plating it is really pretty.

To be vintage it must be older than me!
The last razor I bought was the next to last razor I will ever buy!

This blade is still going but I've noticed the past few shaves, I've really had to put more into my clean-up pass. Today, there was an area under my chin that I went over several times and never got it smooth.
