How can a company make such an incredible eau de toilette and such an awful shaving soap of the same name?

looking for a citrus with longevity - everybody claims bond eau new york is king - how does it compare to the av??
Dan. I am totally ignorant on bond fragrance. I have tested Bleecker[sp?] and harlem. And passed. Claus as you know an expert on this for sure. I think aqua viva and lelabo B22 are best on performance. They get me 8 hours. Malle cologne indeible is 3rd for me. Mancera cedrat bode is the Aventus cousin and i like it. Burned through a whole bottle last year with many notices. It is a solid performer.

To bad tf neroli portifino is such poor performer. That stuff is niiiiice. Atelier citrus are great but fleeting as the pens as you know

Claus should chime in. There are a couple of 1920 bois scents he likes and one that wasn't to try this summer per claus.eau de rochas i believe.

Tommy, this is a great scent but I wouldn't get their shave soap again.  Very expensive and a total lack of performance.  What I will say is that the company listens to its customers.  When I bought the soap and EdT in Edinburgh many years ago, I wrote to FLORIS and told them how much I enjoyed the latter but hated the former (telling them why).  I received an instant reply with the gentleman admitting that they were having trouble with the reformulation and, to make up for it, sent me their Elite shave soap and aftershave balm.  It was sent from the U.K. by overnight courier and there was a personal note enclosed.  To say I was impressed is an understatement.  However, I still plan on sticking with their EdTs exclusively (I have three) and give the soaps a pass.

I hope they get their soaps back in to good lathering shape. My wife and i were in London celebrating our anniversary and i spotted their retail store. We went in right before closing. I think the young lady saw my enthusiasm for their fragrances, and recognized my disappointment that i missed sampling. So she loaded me up with samples.... I mean a big bag of them. The customer service is great. And i love their scents, less the soap per your experience. 1962 is my favorite this time of year. Great packaging too - i don't really care about that much but there bottles are nice. Thx for posting your knowledge on that.
