Patchouli 24 (Le Labo, 2006) patchouli, birch tar, styrax, vanilla

It may take eight hours until you smell the patchouli. That's because there's so much smoke (birch tar) that for the better half of the day you'll smell like you've spilled more than a wee drop of Laphroaig down your sleeve. It's peaty and even a bit meaty with iodine and blood notes, but when it mellows it's delicious and smooth (though still a reeker). Makes a marvelous autumn scent and is probably the perfect partner for Meißner Tremonia's unfairly maligned Strong 'n Scottish shaving soap.
