I like them both very much but am awful at scent descriptions.  To me Eau de Treget seems to open on a pear note and is its most predominant accord.  It's sweet without bashing one over the head the way I remember Brut used to, a scent I find too overpowering.  By the way, I was sorry to hear that Shawn is going to discontinue Eau de Treget.

I decided to purchase La Petite Prairie because I wanted something with vetiver and missed my old formulation Guerlain Vetiver.  (I did not care for the new formula.)  La Petite Prairie isn't as earthy as the old Guerlain and, to my mind, doesn't open with vetiver.  However, the dry down brings out the vetiver in a wonderful way and while the scent does not stay strong for long, it subtly remains for some time.  I like that because I don't want my colognes or eau de toilettes to be so strong that someone would be able to smell it on me from a few feet away.

I do enjoy them both and will replace La Petitie Prairie when my present bottle is gone.  Sadly, I won't be able to do that with Eau de Treget.

Thanks for your impressions, Freddy. I remember now that Eau de Treget was going to be discontinued. I have mixed feelings about Brut. This sounds like something I might have enjoyed more… Undecided

La Petite Prairie sounds nice, too. Though I’m sometimes disappointed in fragrances that don’t seem to project or last, it can be equally disappointing to wear a fragrance that is relentlessly strong. Sounds like La Petite Prairie strolls the fine line between the two in a classy way. I’ll have to keep that in mind.
