I had mentioned this razor in one of the other WSC threads but, didn’t want to throw that thread off when it deals with another of their razors in their arsenal. So, I decided to keep this one the Triple S on it’s own and give it some shaves and see how it goes. It’s touted as a mild shaver from the Wet Shaving Club for those that prefer a milder shave with not much blade feel. Additionally it is made of all Stainless Steel but, gives no mention of the steels alloy nor where it is made/manufactured. I believe it to be done via CNC as there are tooling marks from cutting on the bottom of the base plate and that is the only place that shows any significant machining marks as everywhere else on the head assembly is a nicely polished finish, almost chrome like in appearance. I ordered it in the adjustable version which means that the handle is adjustable in length to one’s liking. The handle has a quality finish as well, not mirror like in polish but, a nice bead blasted matte with a slight luster to it. Looks and feels good in the hands as it is devoid of knurling yet it exhibits longitudinal serrations on 3/4 of the handle with 4 vertical indentations towards the last top 1/4 length. Like I said, it feels good and offers positive grip in the hands. The handle is super long if one leaves it completely assembled with the bottom stub and additional insert. Longer than I prefer. I removed the extra insert and the handle length was more to my liking.

A few pics below with the minimalist packaging (comes in a sturdy mailer type cardboard in which the items are wrapped in a sort of wax paper with I think are 50 Tatra blades. Not bad for $40 shipped) which i don’t mind at all. I’ll have weight specs at a later time but, for now here’s a bit of eye candy.

Shave to follow with a Feather blade (it’s a mild razor so they say) installed and a quick first impression of the razors cutting ability....

Done deal. Initial impression? This is a very mild razor. Blade feel enthusiasts stop right here. This is not for you, sorry. A full 3 pass shave with a bit of touch up work in my normal trouble spots. Not a complete BBS finish but, DFS for damn sure. Initial feel is I think the Triple S is in the realm of the RR Mamba .53 as it exhibits negative blade exposure. Blade feel is virtually at the bare minimum. But, it removed the whiskers very comfortably albeit with some work. Not a spec of irritation, nics or weepers of any kind.

A smooth & comfy 1st outing....

Where was the package shipped from? There is no contact information on their website, except an 844 area code "support" phone number. The 844 area code is a global toll free number used by many scammers. This typically sets all of my warning bells and red lights flashing, when a business cannot be traced or contacted directly. Who is the owner of WSC and where are they located? If you do not receive the goods you paid for, you have zero recourse, without any contact or tracing information. The razor looks interesting and has a rock bottom price, since it is made in China. It is obviously a lesser grade of stainless steel, for it to be $35. It really irks me when businesses hide behind a website or have a "no contact" digital footprint. What are they hiding? And where?

PS...Thanks for the informative review and pictures!

Shipped from the Lone Star state, Texas. Concerning their vagueness on an informational level and format on their website, there is an email address where one may contact them with any questions or concerns on their products. It’s very simple when it comes to web business and making sure that the business entity is legit or farce. It all falls on the consumer using due diligence and some common sense, both actions that are severely lacking in today’s society when it comes to e-commerce. Personally, if Yates Precision Manufacturing does some of their razors (Merica Razor & another soon to be released) which is publicly known across the web and on these shave forums including my direct emails to Yates concerning this brand, I have no qualms in dealing with WSC. It’s my 2nd product that I’ve ordered from WSC without a single issue. Again, to each their own and I can clearly understand some heightened concerns and at times paranoia on dealing with a digital format based business in these times but, if Yates is dealing with WSC on a business level and Jake Yates is as sound of an individual as well as his business format is and furthermore, my dealings with WSC have been exemplary, my concerns are well under the “concerned state” as of my latest purchase. Anything can happen truthfully but, so far it has been a positive experience on my end. I strictly speak on my own behalf and experience and do not speak for anyone else’s opinion(s) concerning Wet Shaving Club.

Thank you & your welcome......

Recourse is why you always use a credit card for e-commerce.

A good 2nd shave with the Triple S. Again, a very mild shaver with nearly any blade feel but, it did shave comfortably and smoothly. I can’t say with certainty how long the shave lasted in terms of when I felt stubble returning as I shaved yesterday evening at about 5:30 pm. I awoke this morning at about 5 am and there was stubble after a regular 8 hour work day, perhaps a bit more to be honest.

I’ll put in a few more shaves then move onto a KAI blade for some extra blade feel, if any and report back my findings.

I have purchased from WSC 3 times now and have had an excellent experience. They have answered all my questions quickly thru email and all 3 razors were in excellent condition when received

Shave #3 was a repeat of the first two. Smooth, easy and very comfortable. I’ve been getting about 6 maybe 7 hours of duration from each shave, at least that’s what I got from yesterday’s shave in the morning as the previous night before I really couldn’t call it as I was in bed by 10pm and woke up at 5:30ish am and felt stubble at that time. Bottom line, they are not long lasting shaves but, they are very comfortable and mild feeling on the skin. I can barely feel the Feather blade during the shave but, it is removing whiskers during each successive pass. A nice DFS today as the 2 days prior. Next I’ll throw in a KAI and see if that can add a bit more cutting and feel to the shave.

Happy shaves to all....
