Went from loving aggressive razors to mild + efficient and haven't looked back

I don't really like much blade feel in a DE razor, so I gravitate to milder razors like the Tech and Pils.
Having said that, my primary razor is a Feather SS shavette, which, being an open blade, is generally considered to be agggessive and have a lot of 'blade feel.'

It is odd, I guess, that I find the open blade razor very comfortable, but I sold my Blackbird because it had too much blade feel for my taste.

Angle? I have a strong preference for razors that curve the blade such that the angle of attack is more parallel to the skin...

I can get a BBS with a Gillette Tech if I do an ATG pass, which I rarely do as it's not worth it IMO. I went through RAD years ago and ended up selling almost all having come full circle back to the Tech which is IMO the perfect daily DE razor. Find its "sweet spot" and you will be rewarded with an effortless DFS every time. That said, I use some type of Schick injector razor for multi-day beards and to be frank it's simply a better "mousetrap" with its only limiting factor being blade variety.

I've been turned off by some of the milder razors on the market due to perceived lack of efficiency. Razors that fall into this category for me are the Timeless Bronze SB, both Razorock Mambas (both plates), Razorock Babysmooth, Razorock GC .68, and Wolfman Guerilla.

have you tried these razors, or, are just turned off by what you heard? ...seems like a lot of no love for razorocks

I find myself going over the same area again and again with mild razors and that causes razor burn. One of the worst offenders is the Gillette Milord. No such problems with the pre-war tech(a razor I could happily use every day for the rest of my life).

I also have a fast-growing, tough beard. I have found that I get the best shaves with the least irritation if I use an efficient open comb razor for the first WTG pass to knock down most of the growth and then drop back to milder razors for the XTG and ATG passes. However, I also do a fourth clean-up pass using a very mild razor with an extremely sharp blade (BIC, Nacet, etc.) to pick up any stubble I missed in the first three passes. Since it sounds like you might still have some efficient razors in your den, try one of them on your first pass and then drop back to your milder razors for the remaining passes. I can shave with a single razor for all passes, but I much prefer using a razor and blade optimized for each pass.
