Probably better to pony up and get one from l'Occitane - a used one could well have blemishes, dings, scratches, dents, etc. But there's no harm in asking - good luck on the quest!

I saw one that was new ... i thought was on DFS but couldn't find it when i searched for it. It was new so was giving it a try.

eBay has them for $33 buck w/ soap. likely from teh L'occitane outlet. Hoping someone out there got one for a gift or shelved one away that they are not using. Otherwise, you are spot on - wait for L'Occitane sale and buy it direct.
