Gentlemen,

The Emperor is now available on Amazon with 2 colour options
(1) Standard edition: Frosted Chrome
(2) Augustus edition: Vintage Bronze and Cognac

Here are the differences between the Crusader & Emperor:

+ The Emperor has a thicker and shorter handle (still long enough to be a long-handled razor). It's also heavier than the Crusader and the Merkur Futur.

+ The Emperor has a thinner head with 4 lather holes on each side. When we released the Crusader with a solid block design, a few people suspected that the razor head would get clogged up. Although until this moment we have not heard of any clogging incident, we decided to be proactive and add the lather holes to the Emperor head to ease people's worries.

+ The Emperor has the aggression levels engraved on its collar.

+ On the mildest setting, the Emperor will be milder than the Crusader. This level is close to cartridge razor mildness (I think).

+ Similarly to the Crusader, the Emperor has a dual head with a scalloped bar and a smooth bar.

In my humble opinion, The Emperor is a friendlier razor. None is better. They are just different.
The Emperor definitely has addressed all the concerns about the Crusader. It's a very proper and very technical adjustable razor.

However, the Crusader has its own charm and is very intuitive. There's something sexy about not needing to know what setting you're at.
Just pick it up, eye the blade gap, find the angle in a few seconds and off you go.

According to Viking Blade on their own website they go through the entire history of their company going back four generations. At one point Baili was making some molds for them and to make a long story short they produce all their own razors in an unmentioned Asian Country. In other words the designs and making of their razors is strictly their own manufacturing. They are owned by an Australian Company.

I own the crusader as well and I never had any clogging issues and I have a thick beard!

I am looking forward to trying it out and I will post my review with close up pictures. For me the crusader and the super adjustable are very close in shave efficiency.

gLet,

While I am working my way to have 10 posts to unlock the PM requirement, if you would like to message me in the meantime, you can contact me via our official website if you have any questions about the Emperor.
