Dang, that is a beautiful razor! I would say it is the best looking razor I have ever seen. Except for all the text on top of the head, that is. IMHO, it would be better to just have the little logo on top and put the text on the underside.

Is Vikings Blade going to produce a symmetrical-head version, as well? That would be really cool to have.

I looked on the vendor's website at https://vikingsblade.com/collections/all...nze-cognac, and read this:

"Thoroughly towel-dry the razor after use to maintain the cognac plating"

A razor shouldn't need to be dried after each use. Ah well, there is a matte silver version that does not require drying.

One thing I think is especially good is that the vendor values and listens to customer feedback, and interacts (and is allowed to interact) with forum members here. Good for you, Vikings Blade and Damn Fine Shave!

I got the matte silver version and am really enjoying it. it's a great weight and size for my sausage-fingers and is a very controllable shaver. It's neither too aggressive or too mild to me (though I tend to favor milder razors). Compares favorably with my fat boys, ambassador, vision 2k and model t (white chrome I bought on the bay, still waiting on my IGG gunmetal though...) From what I remember before I sold it, the barbaros/rocnel adjustable was smoother (sold it a while back for way too little!). It's better by far than a futur or (unmodified) progress or slim or bb, I have no variant to compare it to.
Overall, money VERY well spent on this razor.

YINTAL Adjustable Butterfly Open Double Edge Safety Razor 3 Colors Brass Long Handle Razors Designed By WEISHI.

Knurling on handle looks little different, price is $33.99 shipped to US.
Does anyone know how it shaves compared to the Vikings Blade Emperor? How do the construction and finish quality levels compare?

I don't know about the Yintal but the Weishi Nostalgic Adjustable is really nice and finished well. I initially bought one to possibly use as a travel razor. It mostly sits in the box though as I have way too many razors . It's a great razor, mostly brass with a black coating.

Speaking of the Weishi Nostalgic, I thought about it and if you want to get one, let me know. I can send it your way for a good price. Too many razors!!

The photos of the Weishi Nostalgic Adjustable on Amazon look just like the Yintal, but with a slightly different adjustment collar. If Yintal is a Weishi brand, or if the Yintal was designed by Weishi, that would make sense.

I wonder if it is hard to rinse out the Weishi / Yintal razors with a blade installed. The base of the razor head looks like it might impede the flow of running water. Compare that to the base of the razor head on the Emperor.

Thanks for your offer of a good price on the Weishi, but I think I will stick with what I have for the time being. Just investigating adjustable razors in case I want to get one in the future. The Emperor is beautiful, but I don't particularly like razors with different combs on each side.

They report on amazon and their website that the majority of the razors are coated brass. The only piece that is not is the baseplate which is Zamak. I hope this helps.
