Maybe it's just me, but when I search for product reviews and land on a video, I always cringe. I don't want to watch some shirtless dude do a 3-pass shave for 20 minutes while I learn about the razor or soap I'm interested in.

I'd much rather see close ups of the item. Or better yet, write the review, give the razor to your gf or SO, and have her talk about it.

Maybe I'm being took insecure with my sexuality, but watching a half-naked guy shave for 20 minutes makes a little squeamish.

I’ll be honest, I will always rather read a review than watch a video. If I absolutely have to watch a video, I will do it on a computer, where I can speed it to up to twice the regular speed. As the saying goes, “ain’t nobody got time” to listen to the inevitable chit-chat of a three-pass shave.

The “girlfriend or significant other” proposition could mark a turning point in such videos…

Whenever I go to shave, I assume there’s someone else on the planet shaving, so I say “I’m gonna go shave, too.”

Shirtless girlfriends reading razor reviews? Best proposal ever?

I almost always prefer a written review to a video. There have been one or two exceptions but, for the most part, I have always been a reader and believe I get more from reading than from viewing.

Having said that, however, others might be just the opposite and be able to take in more from a visual and auditory review than they can from reading. That's why there is a choice. Smile

You choose a video and are aware of the content yet you watch it until the end and feel sqeamish about it?
There are many videos without shirtless dudes, search harder and make wiser choices.

What I find interesting is that people that bash people making videos on youtube don't have the balls to put out their own content. This is not bashing the OP, but people that critique videos in general. I just find it really interesting.

The entire review and critique business is based on no-talents commenting on others who are more successful than themselves. The internet wouldn't exist without A**HOLES commenting on the producers...that includes videos, shaving soaps, movies, and music.

I generally keep my trap shut, but when I don't want to spend $100 to find out if a razor is worth the money, I'm willing to watch some fat dude shave himself while I listen to what he has to say....with the hopes that it will convince me to buy the razor or save me $100. It's the price I have to pay, but I still don't enjoy doing it.

If I had a hot wife or gf that would be willing to do it for me, I could probably gather a ton of views and pay for my razor habit. God knows I need more money to buy even more Edwin Jaggers.

Maybe I'll post a video of me shaving my butt with one of my new EJs and then post it here...and then listen to you tell me how it was unwatchable...or that I missed a couple of spots.
