Don't freak out, there isn't a ban on soap, well at least not globally. The ban I am speaking of is the one placed on us by our significant other, our selves, or whom ever else might be concerned with the amount of wet shaving products arriving in the mail.

For myself the ban is placed on me by my wife usually based on the frequency of the order and not the actual size. For instance, if three packages arrive within a week...BAN. If two days in a row...BAN!  If three boxes arrive on the same day...DOUBLE BAN!  The bans usually last until the end of the current month regardless of the number of days remaining. Currently 6 days and counting until this most recent one is lifted.

All joking aside, my wife is very lenient towards my hobbies because it helps me escape the stresses of school, but there does come a point where she and even myself think I should slow down a bit. Does anyone else have spousal or self imposed "soap bans?" Or am I the only one out of control?

My girlfriend mentions it here and there when i get a new one (which isn't very frequent by wet shaver standards, maybe one a month at most) but she's never attempted to ban anything i do or fuss at all. I know I have a good one there and she likes to collect some things too so my case may be different. Then again, she has been talking about me shaving her legs some time so I'll have to get some rose scented soap for that occasion. I think that if a woman is involved in whatever it is that we enjoy doing, at least to a degree, it makes both partners happy. Happy wife, happy life, as they say.

I imposed one on myself but only because I was running out of storage space in the cabinet. The wife couldn't care less.

I have had a long standing ban... until the next must-have shaving accoutrement comes along. Gee, I wonder why there's no more room in my den. Tongue

I am a life long bachelor so a wife doesn't come into it, but I am sensible and get six carefully select soaps a year. If you have a wife on your case have a look at their make-up,perfume collection and work out their yearly spend = $$$! So a few soaps now and then is buttons!

I know the pain. This is when a good friend comes in handy. Most of the stuff I buy gets shipped to my friends house. While I don't by to many things very often, when I do buy things its an online order. When it's done like this, I can go over my friends house to pick up my packages, dispose of the shipping box and walk it inside the house like nothing ever happened....

The things we do to survive.

You are def not alone ......I've got more than enough, to survive the apocalypse ...... but I still always manage to have 2 or 3 or 4 packages arriving a week!
It is .....an addiction, period .......but I have not heard of any deaths from it! LoL ...... Seriously, like anything - LEARNING moderation is key ..... I'm doing better, but I still binge now and again.
