NOS blades are nice, Chinese Schicks are second, current production Personna were not great. There are also the Japanese Schicks in regular and twin. I have ordered some of each and I'm waiting for them to come from Japan. I am currently using a cut down Feather Pro. Had the 4th shave this morning. I trimmed it then inserted it in the Schick injector blade case and loaded the Hydromagic Schick that way. Personally the first pass was rough, but the blade is super sharp. I'm finding that I prefer the Chinese Schick over the Feather from the perspective of smoothness. I have been using Feather DE blades for years so I'm used to the sharpness, but these just don't feel as smooth. I'm also going to try a cut down Kai Mild when I finish with the current blade. I want to test it to see if it will go 10 shaves since that is what I get out of the Schicks.

I have beeen using the personna blades in Schick L type but I must try the Schick injectors.

If anyone has both an L and G type, would really like to know the differences in how they shave.

I ask because I really like that blade in my Cobras, Mongoose, and ATT SE. I'm a Feather fan, and use the Feather Platinum exclusively in my DEs and the FHS in the OneBlade.  I've managed to get some NOS Personna Super Platinums, some regular Personnas , and some Chinese-made Schicks to experiment with, but I'll need some more shaves under my belt to assess.

But I'm curious about the use of a Feather, so any input or advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

I lay a used injector blade over top of one of the Feather AC-type and draw a line on the AC blade to trim.  I then use some utility shears I picked up from Home Depot to trim the blade down.  Just about any type of heavy scissors or shears will work, but I think the shears with the slight serrations work the best.  It also works best for loading if you trim the trailing end of the blade that will be injected into the razor.  It's just smoother loading the the factory end of the blade.

I think the easiest way to load the cut down blades into the razor is to carefully load them into a regular Schick-style blade injector.  Be careful not to cut yourself loading the blade injector and also be careful not to booger up the edge loading it into the blade injector and then the the razor.  Or, you can hunt down one of those vintage Schick E2's I mentioned before, so you can just open it up and load the blade. (Sorry, just trying to enable help!)

Please be very careful if you decide to try this.  The blades are obviously very sharp and when you trim the blade, you have to be careful that small pieces of razor sharp steel don't go flying!  At the very least safety glasses would be a good idea.

The Chicks are also much better for me than the Personnas. I have not tried any NOS blades but definitely will look for some in the future based on Rob's input.

You can find the Japanese Schick single and twin injector blades on eBay.  Just shop around before you order.  While these blades tend to be generally more expensive, there are recently some sellers charging up a 100% mark-up from what they've been for over a year.

The GEM equipped Autostrop VC-1 handled the beard, the E3 the head shave. I just love the Autostrop but for being a bit tricky to handle under the nose. It's like my Shake Sharp except more better-er. The E3 shaves real close but not as smooth as the I2 and Injectomatic which two at this point stand at top of the heap as head shavers.

Have you tried a GEM ClogPruf for the head shave? Especially after the buzz cut for the first head shave of the season it works very nicely. As the name suggests, it doesn't clog easily.
