Colonial Razors is the only one that has hinted at this before. I think I remember him saying they were going to produce the General in different metals (brass, stainless steel) first and then the GEM blade razor would be their next project. Hopefully they follow through with it. I would definitely be in line for that.

Marko, the blade will also get "better" after 3-4 shaves. They are incredibly sharp, maybe too sharp, when new.

This is my first use with both this razor and this type of blade (Artist Club) and I am very impressed, even with the razor's known flaw of blade placement.

What did you think? Do you like the width of the blades?

Sorry, I just saw this and was out of town when it was posted. Blush

Overall, I'm very impressed. The weight of the combination head/handle is Goldilocks for me, not too light and not too heavy. The width of the blade was interesting but once properly set into the razor I had no problem manipulating it around my face, neck, and jawline. This razor is a fine addition to my SE collection.

Any of you SE shavers use shims? I recently made a shim by gluing 2 modern injector blades together and I'm getting awesome shaves.

Interesting putting a DE blade in an SE, the shovelhead no less. I assume it holds it tight enough despite the blade being thinner
